How I installed the BMW Aux Input on my Nav equipped audio unit:
1. Pull top vents straight out, they are held in with spring-loaded clamps. You don’t need to pull it out very far. Just an inch or so to get the screwdriver in for the ne

GENTLY pry off the right
middle dash wood/alum trim off - starting from the passenger door -
over to the radio . Pry the trim above the radio up and pry up the side
next to the steering column. (2) phillip head screws hold the radio .
GENTLY slide out .

The only place I could successfully locate mine was under the passenger seat (drivers seat would probably work too).
Note:
It does not fit in the console (dms cartridge sticks out).
