SES Voice (Speech) Recognition Module for Nav, Phone & more

OEM BMW SES module for sale:

84 41 6 913 352 CONTROL UNIT, VOICE INPUT SYSTEM (list price $743.82 !!)

Most US spec X5's (and X3's, E46 3-series, e38 7-series, e39 5-series, and Z4) from model year 2000 and up have a 26 PIN connector hanging off their phone harness. This unit plugs into that connector to give you Voice Recognition (technically it's speach recognition). Here's a good post overviewing the commands.

http://www.x5world.com/bmw-sav-items...?highlight=ses

I mostly use it to get the nav map back on the display without fumbling with the menu, or phoning my common numbers though my phone paired to the BTUM or recording a short verbal reminder on the "notepad".

$200 + shipping

Here's the owner's manual: http://www.e38.org/BMW-03_00-Voice-Control-en.pdf

Note: if you have the BMW Assist module with Voice Recognition (2005+ ??), this module will not work as you cannot have 2 modules w/ VR, even though this module has more commands than the Assist box.

This unit should work in all I-Bus vehicles, including your 2007 X3.
Yes, I can ship internationally.
Via USPS Priority Mail International (6 - 10 days) is $29

Does your phone harness already have the 26 pin connector? Here's some photos from my X5...

For a 2007 X3 with Bluetooth, you should already have Voice Recognition. Either with the combo Assist / Bluetooth module or the ULF with SES module. Depress the telephone button for 1 full second on the left steering wheel pad and you should hear a beep, indicating the system is waiting for a commend. Try "HELP" to test it.

As for the X5 location, the SES module is mounted upside down, above the nav computer.

ripp222, The voice recognition/activation is an option in Oz!!! So my car does not have it. Treid holding the voice key for a sec etc. No luck
my other car is an M3 which has the setup.

If you still have the unit and tell me where it fits in an X3 am in the market for it!!!

I have a 2004 X5 with nav, and I'm not sure if this would work. Do I just plug it in and it'll start working? I don't think I have a bluetooth module in my car either.

My goal is to use my iPhone handsfree thru my X5. Is this the only thing I need? How much is shipping to Texas, 77478?

Thanks so much!
