Thumbs up Morristown, Best Place Ever!

We recently just had a freon recharge done by Morristown BMW. We were charged a total of $280 without tax for just a recharge, which I think is a bit expensive.

I've recently been informed that people can get a recharge for $175 done on their X5, yet you've charged me almost double more. This isn't very good for a dealership that sponsers this forum.

I can provide more info via PM, don't want to release too much personal details.

Edit: I just calculated how much labor was for this. It turns out it was $180 per hour, which is more than what I would pay in total for an independant specialist! Now it seems outrageous!

It is my understanding that your beef is with Morristown Service; not Morristown Parts that is a forum sponsor. I think that you need to take the issue to Service...

Yes, but in my understanding, this place is to express your dealer experiences. I'm just expressing an experience of Morristown Service.

You should have gotten everything in writing before you agreed to the service so that there were no surprises.

Update to the situation. We talked to Jason and they corrected the problem. They gave us credit off the parts during our repair today.

Good service again!

I know NJ is a HIGH $$$ area (born'n'raised). But when I come in for service or to have something done on the car, I'm more interested in getting it done properly, and that they look for anything else that may need to be looked at further or replaced. I'm not going to haggle over pricing before they even look at it because IMHO then they won't do a thorough job, but limit themselves to a set time. On the other hand, when the labor rate works out to $150+/hr, I feel I'm getting ripped off. It seems to me then they are trying to beat a set time for the repair/service and are not interested in giving a complete service. Parts & Service may be diferent departments, but it's still one dealership and supposedly a team working together to provide customer satisfaction. Having the two compete with one another means only that the owner is greedy for our money. Sure, we drive BMWs, but that does not mean we are not looking for fair value for our money.
