Question Integra GSR Roof Top

Hey Phil, I've seen some nice very nice post from you here and I'm hoping you can help me with a small paint issue I'm having on my 98 Acura Integra.

I live in FL so the sun is obviously quite brutal here. Over the last year or so this spot has developed on the roof of my car just behind the moon roof. So last week I got some of that Turtle Wax ICE Liquid Clay and after that I applied the Turtle Wax ICE polish. And as you can see it didn't help much other than the spot is no longer "whitish" in appearance.

Do you have any suggestions? Is this permanent…hopefully the pictures I've attached help out. I’ve tried to circle the area that I'm referreing to so you can see how it compares to the paint next to it.

Thanks,

I used to have an Integra way back in the day...Yeah it definitely looks like some sun damage. I dont think there's much you can do. But try this. Get a rubbing compound (wax) and rub it in.. Then try the polishing compound which i believe is the turtle wax you referred to. I personally use Mother's hand wax as the polishing compound. Much better than the turtle..

I doubt that will come out, it looks like the clear coat is toast. Best bet is to bring it to a detailer or body shop to have them see if they can compound it out.

Compound and wax are two totally different things. Wax protects and shines and compound corrects.

I would bring it to a detailer or a paint and body shop to asses the damage, but it looks pretty bad

Yikes, not what I was hoping for. Goes to show even after years of taken care of the paint on this thing and this is how it treats me! Thanks guys for the tips and I'll give those a try.

Shouldn't cost much to have a good shop lightly sand it and respray with clearcoat.
