The cable would only be on cars that have nav. The e38/39 cars have an extension cable as I mentioned before. It goes to the back of the nav and up to the antenna. The antenna only has a little short cable. I think the x5 antenna has a long cable which goes directly to the nav without the intermediate extension cable. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong on that. You might get the extension cable and splice it or you might find a whole x5 antenna/cable. Thanks Roy in GA! I've contacted one of the wreckers in my area (autobahn) and they told me to contact him in a few days because the car w/ nav was not processed yet (don't really know what that meant). Thanks for all this advice and for the extra effort in posting my issues on bimmerboard also.
