I had a problem when i got a flat tire once. I have a 4.4 sport. It came with the 17inch spare you have. I put 20 inch 4.6 wheels like you had on it. I got the flat and called road side assistance. they came and refused to change my tire because i did not have the stock oem size wheels on my X5. So be ready for this problem if the situation ever arises.

That should NOT be a problem for me since I will NEVER call roadside assistance for a wheel/tire change. Knowing BMW, I'm better off doing it on my own...saving times and frustrations.

I just picked up a complete set of OEM 20" style 87's myself off craigslist for and incredible price that included tires although they were a bit worn. Some curb rash but someone other than myself might not notice. Trashed the rubber and sent the rims to be refinshed. $400 for the rims, $500 for refinsihing...still not bad. Only hold up right now is which tires. I live in Boston and although we don't have super harsh winters when it does snow you need to be prepared. I want a nice low profile tire that can withstand the snow. Either that or just swap back to my original setup.
