HOT AIR WITH A/C

We stay in a very hot climate and use the A/C all the time. MY 2000 X5 does real good cooling me but I noticed the following:

1. When the temp control is kept not too cold, a lot of hot air comes from the foot area in front of the car

2. The adjustable temp setting where you have the read-out of the inner temp AND the vent temp setting next to the dash board are contrary to each other. No matter what you set the inner to, the vent setting seems to have the edge. Cant figure what the temp setting is all about.

Did you ever have any luck on your problem ? I had a weird experience yesterday ......My a/c was blowing hard hot air from the middle vents but I was geting cool air from the side vents.... and rear when I close the middle vents it was managable but Im getting more hot than cold from the middle vents .....like the damper(the little wheel with the red and blue dots on it) for the heat isnt closing completely .......hmmm confused

We had a similar issue with our X5. The driver side air seemed perfect and in-sync with the display, but the passenger side was a different story. I would set the A/C to 60 and it would still be warmer than the driver side set at 72.

It did get a bit colder over time, but once we got a freon recharge, everything was fine.
