HELP - X5 4.4 is shaking and vibraing when stopped

I bought a 2006 X5 4.4 with 13,000 miles a couple weeks ago and it turns out this thing shakes and vibrates when completely stopped and braked. If I put it in park or neutrel the shaking goes away. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the A/C Compressor and told me the issue was fixed. Of course it is not fixed at all. Now they are telling me there is nothing they can do, and think it is normal. No way this is normal for a BMW to do! Any thoughts on this?

I think I have the same problem. Is your a/c off when the vibrations occur?

I notice that when I turn my a/c off and come to a stop, the car idles very low and starts to shake/vibrate. I asked my dealer to kindly raise the idle a few rpm's but no luck...... May be the same problem, it may not.

depends on how severe the shaking is... a slight loping feel is normal with a v8, but a moderate shaking isn't. If they try telling you it is normal, get them to bring another one to the service drive for comparison. The beauty of the dealer, is they have many other cars there just like yours for comparison with perceptive problems like that. You can also ask for the shop foreman to ride along with you, that way he can can decide if it is more than "normal" and make the techs spend more time on it before saying "no problem found, normal characteristics, or could not verify complaint" I hate when the newer, lower level techs let cars go because they can't find a/the problem... customers don't bring in a car just to mess with you, they really have a problem they want fixed!

Well yes and no. If I come to a complete stop and turn the A/C off the car vibrates like crazy, so on that yes. But since I live in South Florida, I am not concerned about that since I will never turn the A/C off. But when I have the A/C on and come to a complete stop, the SUV starts to shake, I feel like I am Mohammed Ali. If I put it in park the shaking goes away.

Sounds to me like it's electrical and the O2 sensor. Mine would shake when and almost feel like it was going to cut out when idling. It was some type of fuel mixture sensor that was causing it.
