i was being facetious, in reference to apple's restrictive software/hardware policies. i hate itunes, and how apple makes it so difficult to share my own music between my own ipods or other devices. |

that's not Apple's doing, it's the doing of the license agreements with the various artists and recording companies.. write to them and complain as I have. In the end, Apple is provided a (with in the legal framework) way to buy cheap music and play it on an MP3 player that nobody else was able to do LEGALLY. |

it is apple's doing...for example you must register with itunes for the iphone, hence the facetious reference to installing itunes on idrive. and its hardware restrictions that do not allow you to sync songs in itunes from one ipod to another. artists and recording co's have nothing to do with that. its like buying a CD in the store but it only works on my cd player, not yours. sounds cool, huh? anyway, wrong forum....

because they have the rights to the music and they dictate the way apple can distribute them. Apple spent months and millions on lawyers to work out the agreements with various artists and record companies (some don't have agreements at all) to allow the level of distribution they have now.. more would have been all but impossible. |
